Of Being a Racist
By Carli Muñoz
In my world, you can be just about anything if you want to be my friend… but not a racist. Racism must be one of the most shameful and despicable conditions that exist, and it doesn’t fit in my world. I also believe that transformation is possible and that racism can be eradicated at least on a personal level. The first step would be to quietly look into yourself and know and accept if you are racist. It may not be easy or comfortable, but if you can pierce through the resistance of a million learned fears and justifications, you might get somewhere—on your way to freedom.
